Explore genuine, unedited reviews from adventurers who mapped Japan's local neighborhoods and subcultures with our private bicultural guides.
We booked the Shinjuku Night Tour on our first evening in Tokyo. Our guide was bicultural and spoke flawless English. We felt so safe walking down the tiny smoky alleys of Omoide Yokocho and Golden Gai, eating delicious local food in stalls we would never have dared enter ourselves!
Asakusa was absolutely magnificent. Our guide's explanations of temple etiquette, shrine history, and local Japanese mythology was fascinating and deeply respectful. Nakamise-dori's street food was incredible. Highly recommend booking early in your holiday!
Akihabara was a sensory overload but having a bicultural guide who knew the actual back alleys, vintage electronics parts markets, and retro gaming shops made it so much fun. My kids loved playing retro 8-bit cabinets inside Super Potato!
Completely custom, flexible, and tailored. We modified our route halfway through the day to spend more time exploring the Meiji Jingu shrine gardens, and our guide didn't hesitate to adapt. This is real premium private touring.
Loved how bicultural our guide was. She perfectly bridged the gap between Western manners and deep, highly complex Japanese local customs. Conversing with neighborhood chefs and meeting local craftsmen was incredibly special.
Wandering through Shinjuku's neon-lit valleys at night was absolutely stunning. The local bars inside Golden Gai are tiny and almost impossible to enter alone, but our guide had us seated and sharing drinks in minutes!
